The unintended expat blogger behind Tidal Grain Vector

Hello, I am Lucas
Project manager. Parent. An expat currently residing in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter in my life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The opening months were demanding — new systems, new habits, new expectations. Routine tasks felt heavier than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Tidal Grain Vector
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was sincere, everyday family insight.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical experience gained from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Lucas
